Metal Worker/ Helper Trainee
Key Duties
(training to be provided where necessary)
- Assemble and tack weld perforated stainless steel using a MIG welder
- Accurately interpret instructions, drawings and work orders for the job
- Progressive die stamping
- CNC Press brake work
- Press operating
- Metal shearing
- Fork lift operation
- Clean shop and assist in all other shop duties wherever needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, or 3-mos of relevant experience or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Students who have completed or are currently enrolled in a BOCES metal manufacturing program are strongly encouraged to apply
- Willingness to take direction
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs on an infrequent basis. (parts, in boxes, lifted from a shelf above head height) • Maximum weight lifted- repetitive basis 10 lbs. (parts, tools, materials)
- This position is a safety-sensitive position and will require a pre-employment physical, including audiometric testing (hearing testing) repeated annually, pre-employment and regular drug testing, and criminal background screening
