Steel Drill Stands: Precision Stamping and Zinc Plating

This custom metal stamped and zinc plated drill stand is used for the storage and organization of letter, number, fractional, and metric drills bits, and is sold to the general public. Fabrication of these products required the use of various metal forming capabilities. Composed of 16 gauge steel, the individual components were formed on our 40 and 72 ton punch presses. After forming and dimensional inspection, the parts are assembled with a spot welder. The customer supplied drawings called out tolerances of ± 0.010″ throughout the process, once verified the assembled drill stands then receive clear zinc plating.

Drill stands featured dimensions of 13″ in length, 2.75″ In width, and 3.5″ in height. Fractional/letter stands are 5.75″ in length, 2.75″ in width, and 1.75″ in height. The metric stands are 5.25″ in length, 2.625″ in width, and 1.25″ in height. To learn more about this project, or the processes used to manufacture it, see the table below or contact us directly.
