At
Great Lakes Pressed Steel Corporation, we specialize in the precision stamping of tight tolerance stainless steel components. The component highlighted here exemplifies our abilities in this area. Composed of 304-stainless steel, this part was designed for use as a retainer in a pressure sensor application. Called a “tear drop retainer” due to its shape, this part featured dimensions of 0.252″ in diameter for the hex section, an overall length of 0.499″, a width of 0.349″, at a thickness of 0.024″ or 24 gauge.
This small lightweight part required very tight tolerances, the customer supplied drawings called out angular tolerances of ±0.5°, and dimensional tolerances of +0.005″/-0.000″.
We manufacture 269,000 of these parts per order, with lead times of 1 to 2 weeks, for this customer in upstate New York. To learn more about this product, or the process used to manufacture it, see the table below or contact us directly.
