We here at Great Lakes Pressed Steel have been manufacturing various sizes and shapes of conduit boxes for the electrical motor industry for over 50 years. The conduit box houses important electrical components while allowing access to various openings and knockouts.
Production of this product includes shearing 18 gauge HRPO and then using a 200 ton press that draws the part to size. After that we use a 55 ton press to stamp the holes and form the knockout. Once those steps are completed we use our secondary operations of tapping and powder coating to complete the production of the part. This part is held to a +/- 0.02″ tolerance throughout the production process. Annually we produce roughly 2,500 of these metal parts all over the globe with a lead time of 3 weeks.
